The season of spring and optimism
|
Well, we've officially reached Q2. It's spring. Easter Sunday is here. It's Passover. Bunnies and flowers and images of nature coming back to life are everywhere. We're also very close to 'tax day' in the US. The anxiety of tax liabilities and responsibilities is real for many a small business owner. I've worked with several small business owners this year who are new to entrepreneurship and after their first year in business are scrambling to figure out how to manage their finances responsibly. It can be incredibly stressful! Filing taxes feels more like a reconning that just accounting documentation. I have reminded more than one of my clients that entrepreneurship is confronting, hard work sometimes. Any challenge you have in your life - money management, confronting conversations, self motivation, staying on task - they will show up for you in your business. Chances are pretty good that you will have to finally address them or your business will suffer. Now working through your own personal issues can be "a thing" - it can feel emotionally like taking a wrecking ball to your previously under-control-enough life - or it can be tackled with grace and in a spirit of curiosity and wonder. Optimism. So here we are - in Spring - literally the season of optimism. Hope that the long winter is coming to an end. New starts (heck with Jan 1 being the "new start" time, it's really right now!!) Growth opportunities. If you've been with me for any length of time, you know I am a big fan of planning, and inspiring dreams, and then a whole lot of repetition to make the dreams happen. So it's Q2. What's your plan for this quarter? What do you need to make happen? Who do you need to be in order to see the results you want in your life? What kind of help do you need to make it happen? If these kinds of questions make your eyes roll, or cause you to break out in a cold sweat, then it might be something to look at. Now... coming back to Spring and optimism. You can tackle your plan with joy and optimism and in a constant state of gratitude OR you can resign yourself to the grind and carry the weight of your future on your shoulders every day. (yes, I know, it's a bleak picture - but this what I hear from my clients) Dive into spring with some optimism and gratitude. If you haven't done a gratitude journey, or it's been a while since you've done one, now's the time... Click here for my 28 Day Gratitude Journey Questions? reply to this email and I'll answer them. And may spring find you full of joy- Jenell |
