Home is where the magic happens

Travel is great, but home is amazing

¡Hola!

I’m back from a glorious two and a half weeks in Spain and it was amazing. I didn’t take a computer, I didn’t take calls, and I didn’t think about work constantly.

My clients were lined up. Processes are automated as much as they need to be and my team was on point.

If you haven’t traveled to Northern Spain, and you like wine or great food, amazing history and architecture, or are just curious about other cultures, I strongly encourage you to put this on your wish list. It’s a beautiful mix of the ancient, the old and the modern wrapped around a few vibrant and unique cultures.

Travel inspires me.

And I love coming home. So much.

The anticipation of the adventure is great but at some point I always find myself sinking into a longing for home and the known. Home is where life really happens.

It’s like this in business too. We get excited about the “new”, the shiny objects, and the big plans but what really moves us forward is the routine.

The “new” can become part of the routine, but it’s the application or “installation” that has the lasting impact.

Believe me when I tell you that I will be adding some new things to my cooking based on what we ate in Spain! But really, all that dining out and the tasting menus, and the new experiences are now just part of great memories.

The boring, repetition is what gets you across the finish line in business. Find what works, do that over and over again, with regular evaluation and refinements. Go out and find the new things, stay relevant, but then put your upgrades into the new normal, and rinse and repeat.

I mentioned that my clients were taken care of - in order for me to leave them behind in full confidence, they had to be set up for success!

I hopped on a call with a client on Friday and in 20 minutes he was plugged back into his plan. We reviewed his progress, evaluated what was working and what wasn’t, created a plan and got him clear on his next steps. It was an easy call because he’s clear on his plan and where he wants to go and understands that it’s the “grind” of ‘rinse, revise, and repeat’ that has advanced his business from him being the guy who does it all to having six employees to carry the load so that he can find new business and make more money.

It becomes easy if you have the processes to get clear on where you are going, understand the task at hand and then just put into automatic. The routine of HOME.

If you are unclear about what you need to be doing in your business - let’s connect. 60 minutes could change how you end the year.

Just over here unpacking all those souveniers
