Following the Yellow Brick Road

Ruby Slippers on the yellow carpet

A Classic made fresh

The number one grossing movie right now in the US is an old movie. It’s making $2M a DAY in Las Vegas.

The Wizard of Oz is a virtual reality, immersive experience at the Sphere right now. It’s estimated to top $1B in sales.

This is a movie created in 1939 - it’s over 85 years old and still feels new.

Crazy right?! Well, is it?

We’ve experienced the story on TVs for years. We have even seen it on stages - but this is really the first time it’s been packaged with tornado winds, it's a whole body experience in a big round sphere.

It’s been packaged in a new way, but it’s familiar to people. Nothing scary here, but it’s a whole new experience. Unexpected.

What’s old is new again. Fresh.

----

As business owners, we can get trapped in thinking that something is “old” or that we constantly have to be newer, better, always innovating NEW.

It’s not true - you just have to keep the content engaging. Fresh.

Maybe it needs repackaging or re-recording. Maybe you need to upgrade your technology? (Add some wind or flying monkeys to it…)

We all just want to be entertained - and not everyone has seen everything you do!

How can you repackage it? How can you modernize it?

I’ve gone down the rabbit hole recently with OBS and stream deck to make my calls easier, faster and more engaging. Adding new tech to make plain old zoom calls more interesting for me and my clients. Easier to run, more interesting to produce, and way more engaging from the client experince.

Zoom is necessary evil and it’s gotten stale. I’m adding some flying monkeys…

What can you do to liven your content up a bit? How can you bring new technology into what you do? Do you just need to update your colors/ fonts/ logo/ website? Do you just need to re-record that "old" message?

If you want to kick around some ideas - I'm all in!

Just taking a stroll down a yellow brick road with Dorothy again -
